Find the Best Vaginismus Treatment in Delhi
Vaginismus is the name given to
the condition that causes the involuntary tightening of the muscles around the
vagina when being penetrated. Such muscular contraction may occur regardless of
the object of the penetration.
The muscles can even become so
tight with the Vaginismus
that it can preclude the possibility of intercourse.
Aside from the tightening which
is common in the vaginismus, often there is a burning sensation when anything
is inserted into the vagina.
Vaginitis is different however,
in that it is the name we give to the vaginal inflammation or infection.
There are several different kinds
of the vaginitis. These range from bacterial and the yeast infections,
infection caused by a single cell parasite that is transmitted during the
sexual contact with a partner and called 'trichomoniasis', to non-infectious
vaginitis that is the result of a sensitivity to certain soaps, fabric
softeners, spermicidal products etc.
Symptoms of the vaginitis
include itching, irritation and abnormal discharge.
Treatment depends, of course,
on the type of the vaginitis. Yeast infections can be cleared with a cream or the
suppository. Antibiotics are used to treat the bacterial infections and
trichomoniasis, while non-infectious vaginitis can be cleared by identifying
and then avoiding the cause of the sensitivity.
Because each type of the
vaginitis needs different treatment it is absolutely essential that anyone
experiencing symptoms consult with their doctor or medical advisor in order to
receive the correct diagnosis and proper treatment. With the correct form of
the treatment, vaginitis can usually be cleared up fairly rapidly.
With the Vaginismus, there are
two categories.
The first type is known as
'primary vaginismus', a classification applied when the woman has never been able to achieve sexual
intercourse. The second is when the woman has been able to have intercourse in
the past, but has come to the experience difficulty, and this type is called
secondary vaginismus.
The severity of the symptoms
and their consequences vary from person to person. For some, it is possible to
maintain the sexual relations and tolerate sexual intercourse -- but only with
real difficulty. However, because of the pain and the discomfort, vaginismus
can prevent orgasm.
Quite naturally, such
discomfort and the pain can cause real fear of sexual intercourse or
penetration, causing the woman to avoid sex and lose sexual desire.
Each of these symptoms is actually
beyond the reach of the conscious mind. The thing that has happened is that the
feeling, subconscious mind has been more or less 'programmed' to associate pain
with the vaginal penetration. It has become a 'conditioned the response'. As a
consequence, the muscles of the vagina automatically tighten as a protective
mechanism in order to prevent the further discomfort or pain through
penetration. Such tightening may occur before the actual introduction of
anything into the vagina - even at the suggestion or thought of the penetration.
All of this can exact a heavy
toll on personal relationships, and can even prevent the people from having
children. Sometimes gynaecological procedures may be so uncomfortable and
difficult that an anaesthetic may require to be administered in order to
perform an examination.
The actual causes of the Vaginismus
are multiple and so the very first thing to do is to get a thorough medical
check up and diagnosis. If the cause of the vaginismus is determined to be
physical - an injury or the infection, for instance - then this can most often
be effectively treated with medication.
Very often, though, vaginismus
has the psychological underpinnings, and when this is the case then the cause
often lies in the individual's personal history.
At some time in the past, the
woman may have experienced intense the pain or discomfort in the vaginal
region, or less commonly, she may have learned of such pain from another person
and been influenced by this in a process known as 'emotional contagion'. The
subconscious mind has learned to link pain with the 'idea' of the sexual
intercourse or with the thought of having anything inserted into the vagina in
this 'sensitising event'.
Sometimes the woman may
remember this sensitizing event, but the often it may be lost to conscious
recall.
If you have been experiencing
vaginismus or the vaginitis then visit your doctor or medical advisor prior to
consulting with the hypnotherapist. Whether by the prescription or
hypnotherapy, you might well be surprised at how rapidly you can receive
relief.
